Sediment Filter Cartridges
Sediment filter cartridges remove sand, silt, rust and suspended solids from water and process liquids — the first and most important stage of any filtration train. Depth, pleated and mesh sediment cartridges from 1 to 100 micron, factory-direct from PLEATPURE.

Why Sediment Filter Cartridges
Sediment filter cartridges remove sand, silt, rust and suspended solids from water and process liquids — the first and most important stage of any filtration train. Depth, pleated and mesh sediment cartridges from 1 to 100 micron, factory-direct from PLEATPURE.
- Depth (string-wound) cartridges from 1 to 100 micron — high dirt-holding for heavy sediment loads
- Pleated polypropylene cartridges from 1 to 50 micron — low pressure drop and longer runs on cleaner water
- Stainless steel mesh cartridges — cleanable and reusable for coarse protection
- Standard sizes: 10" x 2.5", 20" x 2.5", 40" x 2.5" and custom lengths (typical)
- Options: grooved cores for high flow, bonded end caps, FDA-compliant media for food and beverage
- Change on pressure drop: 10 to 15 psi above clean reading, or the schedule, whichever comes first

FAQ
Questions Buyers Ask
What is a sediment filter cartridge?
A sediment filter cartridge removes suspended particles — sand, silt, rust, scale — from water or process liquid. It is the first stage of filtration that protects finer filters, membranes and equipment downstream.
Depth or pleated sediment cartridge?
Depth (string-wound) holds more dirt per cartridge and suits heavy sediment loads. Pleated gives lower pressure drop and longer service life on moderate loads. A common pairing: depth first, pleated second.
What micron rating should I use?
Match the rating to the water: heavy well water starts at 20–50 micron; typical municipal water uses 5 micron; RO pre-filtration uses 5 micron followed by 1 micron. Finer is not always better — it just plugs faster.
How often should a sediment cartridge be changed?
Change when the pressure drop rises 10 to 15 psi above the clean reading, or on a fixed schedule (typically 3–6 months), whichever comes first. On heavy well water this can be as short as 6 weeks.
Can sediment cartridges be cleaned and reused?
Depth and pleated cartridges are disposable — once loaded they should be replaced. Stainless steel mesh cartridges can be rinsed and reused. Replace, do not reuse, cartridges that have removed biological growth or chemicals.
Do you make custom sediment cartridges?
Yes. Custom lengths, micron ratings, core materials, end caps and gasket types are available on OEM and ODM orders. Send us your housing dimensions or a sample element.
What is the MOQ and lead time?
Standard sizes ship from stock with a small MOQ. Custom builds are made to order, typically 2 to 4 weeks depending on quantity and media.
